The answear came at the beginning of september this year in the form of intermittent fasting. And it makes sense (I really recommend reading Brad Pilon’s ‘Eat Stop Eat’). You know nearly every major religion has some sort of fasting incorporated in it (but to make myself clear I mean abstaining from all food during the fast period, not eating more potatoes or other forms of carbohydrates instead of meat).
I don’t know why people don’t do fasts these days (real fasts) since we are a country were religion is very influencial. I think fasting (postul negru) in our religion became like some sort of punishment for your body in order to gain some sort of spiritual benefit. But it’s not like that at all. There are so many benefits of fasting that I don’t know why we lost this habit. And I can certainly understand the spiritual benefit, but this does not come as a result of punishment, but by having a better and healthier body which in turn makes your mind healthier and ultimatley makes you a better person. I believe this punishment way of looking at fasting made people forget about it and ultimatly think that is bad for you.
Intermittent fasting has become a big part of my life and ultimatly a lifestyle for me wich I really enjoy. If you want to give it a try please do some research first and decide for yourself if it’s worth it. I bet you will be suprised of what you’ll find out.
